Projects
Idea of a curatorial platform that splits in two but not completely separate modules: specific projects and the revival of The New Art Project
Specific Projects
One is a module that highlights specific projects that caught my attention from the artistic ,historical and educational aspect. I am interested in their rapid execution and help them to achieve global visibility .
“Top 100” Davide Bertocchi
Begun in 2003, Top100 gathers, for each edition, 100 songs selected by players on the contemporary art scene, whom Davide Bertocchi asked to choose their favorite song, intended both as a personal soundtrack and as music emblematic of a particular moment. The idea is rather simple: each time invite 100 figures (critics, curators, artists, gallerists, collectors) to choose their own preferred song and then use the compilation-archive to create a CD that acts as a sound magazine in which the idea of “choice” can be traced back to its most basic, intimate, and emotional form.
A fiberglass hybrid vehicle with wheels made from blocks of glued vinyl records. On one side there are 33 rpm records, while on the other there are 45s, creating an asymmetric vehicle that only moves in circles. The records are those chosen by 400 art world personalities as their favourites selection having forced them into stating a precise “aesthetic” preference. The sculpture-vehicle “floats” on these choices, like a big juke-box. All the music selected is stored on 8 volumes compilation highlighting the artistic selection process as noncritical choice, and accessible on Spotify and Deezer on the account of "Top100 / Davide Bertocchi" or "Centre Pompidou Metz".
The New Art Project
The other is a revival of my old platform that I explored while living in Paris and Brussels. I founded The New Art Project in 2005, a curatorial platform that worked with a diversity of ideas connecting art and community on a global level through art fairs, biennales, and independent art spaces and private collections. It is more related to a classical approach of the exhibitions , guerilla curating and guerilla art production as well a new field that i want to explore due to a demand from new kids on the art block Y generation .This will include online conversations and an expanded personal vision to a work of art and curatorial practice..as the gallery and museum visits.
